Such a powerful question, right?

The other day I was watching a show where Warren Buffett was talking to a small group of young students.

He asked a question to them which got stuck in my mind.

Warren said ‘’after this session I can give each one of you a free car. Any car that you choose of whatever prize, any make, any model. However, only condition is that this would be the only car you can have in your lifetime. What would you do with that car? How would you handle that? ‘’

Such a powerful question, right?

What would you do?

How would you manage?

You would take a great care of the car

You would never drive rough

You would make sure it gets best fuel and lubrication needed

You would park in a closed garage when not in use

You would make sure it never misses a service

After all, this car has to be in a good condition for your entire life time, you would take every efforts to make sure of that

Right?

This probably not true for a car. We can have many cars in our lives.

However

This is true for our body and mind

Our body and mind have to last for our lifetimes

Are we taking care of that?
Are we making sure for these to stay in best possible condition till last day of our lives?
Are the fuel rights for both? Are we eating clean? Exercising?

What are we feeding in our mind? Anxiety, Stress, Jealousy, hate, negativity?

We have to think about this. This is such a powerful question.

What I am reading – ‘A Hundred Little Flames’ by Preeti Shenoy

T
his is normally I do not do, reading fiction. However, I have read few books of Preeti in the past and I really admire her. From being ‘Just a mother of two’ (well that’s her first blog) to becoming the best-selling author, her own life is an inspiration to many.

Coming to this new book of her, ‘A Hundred Little Flames’ – Wow! I cannot believe what I have just read. Just amazing and beautiful story.

I am not sure whether I call this a beautiful love story (of love which is so pure) or a young man who has lost his corporate job in quite an unusual circumstances, finding the meaning in his life by discovering the past life of his old grandfather.

However, whatever way you want to describe this, this is a really nice story to read. I really liked the way Preeti has portrayed the beauty and traditions of Kerala with the words. She has touched many issues of old age and how, many of the children these days fail to understand that there is also a life in elderly people (their parents or grandparents) and there is so much to learn from them. Value their wisdom, learn from their experiences, talk to them, give your care to them and do this now... before they are gone.

A must read, I would say!!
